Keeping mice out of your home in Massachusetts

The end of September is a transition to a new season that brings a change of color, a change of weather, and a change of pest pressure. The colder nights prompt mice to look for ways to get inside to build nests and reproduce. To learn how to keep mice out of your Massachusetts home, you should be aware of a few common fall pest control tips. Massachusetts rodent exterminators

  • Mice only need a space about the circumference of a dime to squeeze their bodies through. That means it can be extremely difficult to inspect all the ways that can get inside. But look closely along your basement sill to search for openings. It may be helpful to do this during a sunny day. If you shut the lights off when you're in the basement, it's easier to find light coming through. If you see it, seal it.
  • Keeping mice out of your Massachusetts home requires a good offense. At Burgess Pest Management, we install a perimeter line of defense on the outside. We use a system of exterior, tamper-resistant bait stations which help to knock down the rodent population before they're inside.
  • Regular service. When we service a home, it's usually on a quarterly basis, which includes a fall and/ or winter interior service. Even if you don't think you have a mouse problem, it's best if our trained Pest Management Professionals can inspect to be sure.

Burgess Pest Management has been keeping mice out of Massachusetts homes since 1929. Early fall is the best time to be proactive on your Massachusetts pest control needs.
