A Massachusetts Lyme disease bill proposed by Bay State lawmakers continues to stir debate about medical coverage for patients who say they have the disease. The bill, "An Act Relative to Lyme Disease Treatment Coverage" has been filed by both the Massachusetts House and Senate. It seeks to extend the mandated coverage period offered by insurance companies for those who say they battle symptoms. ticks.jpg

This comes as Massachusetts is inundated with reports of Lyme disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Massachusetts was second in the nation in 2014 with reported Lyme disease cases, totaling 5,304.

Many Massachusetts tick control companies, such as Burgess Pest Management, say they continue to notice an increase in concern from Bay State homowners, who are looking for treatment options for Massachusetts properties.
