Cape Cod sees it's population explode each summer when visitors cross the bridge to enjoy their summer vacation. Due to the warm and humid weather, the mosquito population also explodes on the Cape, usually beginning at the end of June and lasting through Labor Day. The need for Cape Cod mosquito control, during this period, grows exponentially. Cape Cod mosquito control

When deciding how to control Cape Cod mosquitoes, there are several factors to keep in mind, which can be a big difference maker in how successful you are.

  1. "Over the counter" products generally lack the residual capability to effectively control mosquitoes. Almost anything will kill the adults, but very few "do it yourself" pest control products will eliminate all stages of the life cycle.
  2. Look for the conditions that are conducive to mosquito breeding. If you have heavy leaf litter, dense canopies, wood piles, or standing water on your property, try to remove these vulnerabilities. It'll go a long way toward reducing the breeding grounds that mosquitoes prefer.
  3. If you hire a company, you usually get what you pay for. In other words, a company with a bargain basement pricing structure will generally give you a low quality service.
  4. Ask a company exactly how they treat: do they use a hydraulic sprayer or backpack misters? What type of product is being used? Is EVERYONE who treats fully licensed by the Commonwealth and experienced in the industry?

The reason we give this advice is that it's in all of our best interest to reduce the mosquito population on Cape Cod and our exposure to the diseases they carry. Burgess Pest Management uses a 200-gallon hydraulic sprayer with a proprietary blend of low-impact products to create a residual barrier around your property. We achieve the best Cape Cod mosquito control in a way that is environmentally responsible, yet devastating to mosquitoes and ticks on Cape Cod.
